the only thing i wanted
was to be there for you
when the rain falls
and take you into my arms
to show you there is more
than war, hate and being hurt
i gave you my hand
but you didn't take it
because you're afraid
to get hurt
by someone you trust in again
but how could i hurt you
i tried to change
what you think and feel
but i hardly had to realize
that you're the only one
who can change anything about it
and i am helpless
i tried to make you understand
that you don't have to lose yourself
and i never wanted to build a cage for you
i think i did because i was afraid to lose you
but you're like a bird
and birds have to fly
what i just want to tell you
is that i think we can make it
without losing ourselves in confusion
and as long as it takes
we have time as much as we need
to realize
that love doesn't always have to be war.. |
